Krave Beauty: Everything you need to know

Love skincare brand Krave Beauty, founded by Liah Yoo, as much as we do? With us you will learn the impressive story behind Krave Beauty.

You love Krave Beauty as much as we do? In this article, you'll learn why Krave Beauty revolutionized the cosmetics industry with its novel approach and why we find Krave Beauty so inspiring.

What does Krave Beauty stand for?

If you're a fan of K-Beauty and interested in the skincare scene, then you've probably run into Krave Beauty at least once. Contrary to the more-more-buy-more approach of many other cosmetic brands, Krave Beauty is defined by targeted skin care that is limited to the essential steps of the facial care routine. Instead of having twenty different products in their range, they are currently concentrating on three core products, consisting of a cleanser, sunscreen and face cream, as well as two complementary products, consisting of a serum and an exfoliating toner.

The brand stands for realistic values in beauty, because their cosmetics offer neither quick solutions nor amazing immediate results. All of their products are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from fragrances, essential oils, and dyes. They stand for mild skin care that works for sensitive skin and supports the skin barrier. Honest communication with the customer is very important to Krave Beauty and honesty is something that customers value in an industry so full of empty promises and misrepresentations. And true to Korelu's motto, they aim for healthy skin instead of flawless skin!

Why was Krave Beauty founded?

Krave Beauty was started by Liah Yoo because she was overwhelmed with the amount of products in the Korean skincare routine and couldn't find any solutions to her acne. She was lost in the world of skincare and the promises it made to her. In the desperate search for a miracle product, her skin became increasingly sensitive and unhealthy. So she founded Krave Beauty to block out the noise of the cosmetics industry and instead focus on what her skin really needs. Founding Krave Beauty marked a fresh start in Liah's face care journey, and today her skin is healthier than ever.

Krave Beauty's journey to sustainability

When Krave Beauty was founded, they wanted to create a brand for people who are overwhelmed by the amount of skincare options. After two years, they realized that superfluous skin care is not only a problem for people, but also a burden on our planet.

Recycling and reusing products is helpful, but to be truly sustainable you need to go back to the other "R" that we often forget: reduce. Therefore, Krave Beauty's mission is to encourage the world to slow down. They encourage companies in and outside the cosmetics industry to produce responsibly and reduce unnecessary overproduction in order to reduce their ecological footprint. They want you to shop more consciously to avoid us buying products we don't need.

The packaging was Krave's first big step towards becoming a more sustainable company. Many of their products are mostly or fully recyclable. However, when it comes to packaging materials, sustainability is not always black and white and one option is not always automatically better than another. There are a lot of factors to consider.

To truly understand the impact their products have on the planet, Krave Beauty have conducted an in-depth sustainability analysis of the full lifecycle of their products, covering aspects such as manufacturing and transportation.
